I celebrated Easter by watching the classic film The Day the Earth Stood Still the other night. In the movie, a man comes to Earth with a message of peace; only to be hassled by government and the military. He walks among us, taking the name Carpenter (first name John, J.C. – like John Carpenter, the director! and Jimmy Carter!) He pays the ultimate price but is then resurrected, departing with a message of hope.

Still one of the greatest science fiction stories ever told!
